Amanda's MAT Portfolio

I have created many lesson plans as a MAT student, and the one that I have chosen to display is a unit and lesson plan that I created in EDUC 5133. I decided to create a unit and lesson plan for the Principles of Human Services course; the title of my unit is “Exploring the Wonder Years,” and the title of my lesson is “The Developing Child and Their Needs.” I am extremely passionate and feel very knowledgeable about these topics, so it was a lot of fun to create. This assignment needed to utilize all parts of the lesson cycle, and it needed to be extremely detailed. I found it difficult to make the unit plan broad enough and the lesson plan specific enough, but after re-working it a couple of times, I feel that I accomplished my goal. The unit and lesson plan includes a variety of activities and utilizes various forms of media. This assignment will help me greatly when I have my own classroom because I now have experience with creating a unit plan and a lesson to go along with it. I believe that this assignment does well to show that I have met Proficiency Two.
