Why Teach?
As I reflect on my Why Teach paper, I realize that I would not change one thing that I stated in it. All of the statements that I made in my paper have held true since I was a little girl, and they still hold true now that I am finishing up my time as a MAT student. As I simply stated in my paper, “I want to be a teacher to inspire, influence, encourage, and motivate students to find their passion in life and follow their dreams.” Everything in this paper is what motivates me to want to become an educator. This was one of the most enjoyable assignments that I have completed because I was able to discuss why I want to be a teacher, what/who has motivated me in my decision, my accomplishments, and how I will integrate my talents, experiences, personality, and achievements in my teaching. Even after spending time in the classroom, I hold true to this paper, and I am still as excited about my career in teaching as I was on the day that I completed this assignment.
Therefore, I believe that this item shows how I have mastered Proficiency Five.
